Mason Reads Essay Competition

The purpose of the Mason Reads Essay Competition is to promote the values and learning outcomes of the Mason Reads program as well as to provide an audience for our Mason Korea student writers. The novel that has been selected for this semester is "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society” by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows. Students can stop by the Academic Affairs office on the 5th floor of the MK building to pick up a copy of the book. Any student wishing to take part in the competition should first read the book and then compose an essay that incorporates themes, elements, or ideas from the story. Student essays may be any combination of expository, argumentative, persuasive, or narrative in style.
