Medical Resources
Navigating healthcare systems in a foreign country can be challenging for students. This webpage provides essential information and resources to ensure the well-being of students during their time in Korea.
Tuberculosis Test
IGC Housing requires all residents to submit negative TB test result at the point of check-in. Students are required to provide a written result of chest X-ray test issued within 3 months from the date of check-in. Documents in English and Korean can be accepted.
If you are an international student and having difficulty getting the chest x-ray testing done in your home country, we recommend taking the test in Korea.
Below are the clinics you could visit to get the testing done. You will need to bring your passport. No appointment is needed but expect 10 - 15 minutes of wait time.

In Korea, the tuberculosis (TB) test holds significant importance. Given its potential for rapid transmission, South Korea has implemented rigorous TB control measures over the years. The country has experienced past outbreaks and remains vigilant in its efforts to prevent the spread of TB within its borders. Additionally, the prevalence of TB globally underscores the necessity of screening measures, especially in densely populated areas like Korea.
Consequently, TB testing has become a standard procedure, particularly for various institutions such as schools, workplaces, and immigration offices, including those frequented by international students. This proactive approach to TB detection not only safeguards public health but also ensures the well-being of individuals within Korean society.
