FAQ_General

FAQ:

What if I receive my invoice, but I change my courses (add or drop)? How do I receive a new invoice?
Remember, if you are enrolled in 12–16 credits, tuition is $10,000. For example, if you were enrolled in 12 credits and received an invoice for $10,000, and later add one class for a total of 15 credits, you do not need a new invoice since tuition remains $10,000.
However, if you were enrolled in 15 credits and add a class, bringing your total to 17 credits, you must notify us to request a new invoice. We typically issue a revised invoice within 4–7 business days. Please note that registration changes are reflected in the system approximately 3–4 days after you make adjustments to your schedule. You can find our tuition chart here: https://masonkorea.gmu.edu/tuition-and-costs/tuition-rate

How do I pay?
Please visit your bank in person to make your payment and avoid online or internet banking if possible.
Ask the bank to use the “SWIFT” method when sending your tuition payment.
All tuition must be paid in USD.
Your invoice will include your virtual bank account number (가상계좌). You must transfer the exact amount listed on your invoice for the payment to process successfully.

I am receiving a scholarship. How will it be applied?
The scholarship amount will be deducted and reflected directly on your tuition invoice.

Can I pay with a credit card?
Unfortunately, Mason Korea only accepts direct bank transfers. However, we do offer an Installment Plan (분할납부) if you would like to divide your payments over the semester.

How and when can I apply for TIPP (분할납부)?
Please apply AFTER you receive your tuition invoice.
Applications take approximately 7–10 business days for review. Upon approval, you will receive a separate confirmation email.
You may apply here: https://masonkorea.gmu.edu/tuition-and-costs/tuition-installment-plan

I need a receipt. How can I get one?
You may email (preferred) mksacct@gmu.edu to request a tuition receipt. We will send a PDF copy by email.
Please note that receipts issued before Fall: September 30th, Spring: March 31st  will show only the USD amount.

Does Mason Korea report my tuition to Hometax?
Yes. However, we can only report your tuition if we have your correct Resident Registration Number (RRN) on file. Please confirm with Academic Affairs that your RRN is accurate in our system. If an incorrect number was provided at admission, we are unable to update Hometax retroactively. In that case, you may request a tuition receipt at the end of the year and submit it manually for tax purposes.
