University Color
Colors
Green and gold—the colors chosen by some of our earliest Patriots in the late 1960s—honor our student-focused roots. This bold palette signifies our confidence and standing as a rising national leader in higher education.
Primary Colors
George Mason Green and George Mason Gold are our university colors. These colors should be the dominant color on any piece carrying the George Mason brand. Tints of the primary colors may be used as accents, but may not replace George Mason Green and George Mason Gold (at full saturation) as the primary colors on branded materials.
Accent Colors
Use accent colors in small touches to emphasize important content. Accent colors may not replace green or gold, be used as tints (used at less than 100% saturation), or be used as background or product colors.
Color Use
Gradients
Gradients may be used as accents in designs but may not replace George Mason Green and Gold as the dominant colors of branded materials. Allowed gradient color combinations are:
- George Mason Green to George Mason Gold
- George Mason Green to Logo Black
- George Mason Green to white
- George Mason Gold to white
Using color in Infographics
When using color in infographics, use the primary colors first, then the accent colors. Use tints only after exhausting the primary and secondary color palettes.
Color and Accessibility
All George Mason-branded materials must meet accessibility guidelines to ensure readability.
